PEMF Therapy in Squamish, BC
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy to support cellular repair, reduce inflammation, and accelerate nerve recovery.
What is PEMF Therapy?
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy delivers low-frequency pulses of electromagnetic energy to stimulate biological, electrical, and chemical processes at the cellular level. At the Squamish clinic, PEMF is delivered via a dual far-infrared and PEMF mat combined with brain entrainment — providing whole-body cellular stimulation alongside the calming and circulatory benefits of far-infrared heat.
PEMF is not a drug and does not carry the risks of invasive procedures. It is used as a complementary tool within Mina's integrative treatment framework, particularly for patients recovering from nerve damage, chronic inflammation, or systemic dysfunction.
How PEMF Works
The key to PEMF therapy is frequency — specifically, low frequencies that pass through tissues, organs, and bones without being absorbed by healthy cells. These frequencies interact preferentially with cells that are malfunctioning or in a state of energetic deficit, stimulating them back toward healthy function.
At the cellular level, PEMF optimises how cells absorb nutrients, minerals, and oxygen and facilitates the removal of metabolic waste and toxins. The result is cellular restoration, improved mitochondrial function, and a shift toward regeneration rather than chronic inflammation. For nerve tissue — which is particularly energy-intensive to repair — this cellular support can meaningfully accelerate recovery.
PEMF for Nerve Pain and Recovery
Nerve repair requires energy. Damaged nerve cells need to regenerate myelin, rebuild ion channels, and restore electrical signalling — all energy-intensive processes. When mitochondrial dysfunction or chronic inflammation is also present (common in nerve pain patients), cells simply don't have the resources to repair efficiently.
PEMF addresses this at the root: by improving cellular energy production and reducing the inflammatory environment, it creates better conditions for nerve healing. Combined with Mina's Functional Medicine protocols and physiotherapy, PEMF is one more tool working at a different level of the same problem.
What to Expect
PEMF sessions at the Squamish clinic are passive and relaxing — you lie on the infrared PEMF mat, fully clothed, for 30–45 minutes. Most patients notice warmth, relaxation, and often a significant reduction in pain during and immediately after the session. The cumulative effects build over a series of sessions.
PEMF is typically combined with other in-clinic treatments rather than used as a standalone session.
